Highland Park Homes for Sale
One of my favorite urban neighborhoods on the Southside of Birmingham is Highland Park, a neighborhood with a distinctive historical nature reaching back into the late 19th century with many current homes constructed in the early 1900′s.
Of one of my main reasons is the Highland Park Golf Course, the first official golf course opened in the state originally called The Country Club of Birmingham.
Nonetheless, I am obviously not the only one who sees the greatness in this classic Birmingham neighborhood because the American Planning Association recently named Highland Park as one of the nations 10 Great Neighborhoods for 2011. They singled out Highland Park because of the neighborhood’s unique location, impressive use of public spaces, mix of housing options, and of course its gorgeous scenery.
